The Russell  Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), and Jabian Consulting, announced, on Monday, August 19, eleven winners of the first ever RICE Amplify Grants. A total of $59,000 was distributed to RICE entrepreneurs, which included six $4,000 grants to Develop Stage winners, four $5,000 grants to Accelerate Stage winners, and one $15,000 grant to a Pacesetter.

“With support from partners like Jabian Consulting, we are expanding the possibilities for black-owned businesses,” said Burunda Prince, COO of RICE. ” The Russell Center is committed to bringing the best opportunities and resources to our community of entrepreneurs to help them build sustainable, thriving businesses.”

Entrepreneurs who fit into the Develop, Accelerate and Pacesetter stages, matriculate through RICE’s Big IDEAS program, which was designed to help entrepreneurs develop an action plan for creating sustainable businesses. As they participate in this series, entrepreneurs learn to create a business model, develop a problem statement, evaluate customer clarity, assess the profitability of their offerings, promote team engagement, leverage key partnerships, optimize the supply chain, and more.

(Accelerate); Temilola Sobomehin Marshall, runningnerds, LLC (Accelerate); Stef Alicia McCalmon, SAM (Accelerate); Yaminah Childress, YANY Beauty, Limited Co (Accelerate); Carolyn Pitt, productions.com (Scale).
